I don't get no respect

My wife never liked him, I did, I thought his funny remarks were usually, right on target!

He could fire off one-liners like a machine gun! Remember him on the Tonight Show and he had Carson in stitches.

Mitsy briefly worked at the Fountainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, she has some "interesting" tales about the guy...

Went to his club in Manhattan during a college break. The line to get in was long. While waiting to get in, Dangerfield comes out in a robe carrying a tray with drinks for the people in line.
One of my favorite lines of his:
β€œMy girlfriend called and said come over there’s no one home. I went over and there was no one home β€œ

I've mentioned before, back in my college days I went to Rodney's shortest standup show, lasted maybe 5 minutes. So that made the $25 tickets the equivalent of $500 an hour.. Bunch of drunk frat boys started heaving bottles and such at him the moment he walked out and when there was no security to stop it he said after a few minutes, "sorry to the rest of you, but I don't have to take this" and walked off.

I don't blame him.
