i don't get it

Oh, I don't know the price looks about right, hehe.

Looks like a blast to me!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lot of work to be done yet but that baby will move when it gets up and going!

Those GN motors are strong! However, they require a lot of plumbing, and I think it might run a bit hot stuffed in there. Having said that... My dad would love this project. He is all about performance Buicks.

i guess i'm just not there yet. for now its 1275cc and a 4 speed (that occassionally locks up).

Now, now, they're being quite modest... somewhere I saw a photo of a bugeye with a supercharged V8 (Hemi?) stuffed into it....

People do the craziest things.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

I'm thinking you would be good for about 60' at a drag-strip before encountering catastrophic drive line failure.

On a road course you'd push off the first corner.

Yes I know it's a British car and was probably designed by a bunch of non-engineers at a pub on some napkin.
An inspired neophyte may still have common sense.

Yes the AC Cobra & the Griffith 400 are abominations. ( Have you ever driven one)

Have you looked at the video post here showing the AH passing the Cobra again and again in the corners while the Cobra goes cruseing by on the straights.

That's the way it was in the 60s as well when I was running a Cobra that's the way it still is. Heavy iron does not corner well at lower speeds.

You spend $40,000 on a racecar....You shouldn't get passed by some piece of crap Pinto.....

That's just embarrassing /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My brother and his buddy run hopped up Dodge Shelby GLHS's. For those of you unfamiliar with the car, it's basically a FWD grocery getter with a turbo intercooled 4-banger.

One day, on a pizza run, my brother, his bud, and his bud's girlfriend encounterd a guy in a hot rodded late 90's "Cobra" (whatever) Mustang. Mr Mustang was looking for action, and he got it in spades. They beat him any way he wanted run. There was nothing pony boy could do to touch that little Dodge.

Finally, nearly in tears, Mustang rolls down the window and says "Whatta ya got in that thing?" to which my brother's bud replied, "3 adults, a full tank of gas and a large pizza!"

Oh, what a come back line. We use to call them sleepers.

Run what you brung.

I basiclly got kicked out of a Car Guys event for getting too close to and passing a Ferrari 333SP in my SCCA Sprite racer /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hehe, go go Hap.

We showed up at a BeaveRun track day with all 3 Pintos and were told (at first) that we couldn't run w/o an instructor.
(Our cars don't have passenger seats)

I showed the guy my SCCA competition license.....
He said...."That don't mean nothing to me".

I about fainted.......THIS WAS A TRACK DAY!!!

Found out later that it was hosted by the BMW/Porsche club.

We put up so much of a stink that they let us run. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

We got to pass Vipers, Porsches and all kinds of high $ stuff all day.......What a hoot!!
(They were not happy) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif

You are the Pinto guy how's this car look and what is it worth.

Looking for a cheap way to get into solo and maybe some club racing
Ebay #120018979372

So, it's not nice to pass expensive cars with our rather inexpensive stuff by compairison. Not good for someones self esteam.

I noted yesterday at the local Prosche hosted show at the maul that 90% of the vehicles were buy ins, or new stuff off the shelf. If you could afford to buy something fancy you could show it. Heck they wern't even collector cars they were just new cars. Real nice some of them I must admit but still.

The only exception was the Bugeye I posted the pic to and although it looked outstanding there was much that was incorrect or done wrong and I speek to the exterior not the mechanicals. However, it sure looked right just walking down the street and would I'm sure find room in most anyone heres garage with pride. His chrome was as good as it gets and the paint job not one step behind.
