1999 San Marino Red, Honda. 08703-R94AH, R - 94

Those are the numbers off the touch up bottle.

I really like it because its to the blue side of red rather than the orange that you get in Signal Red.

BTW, my license plate frame reads "Because anyone can drive a Miata"

Re: I didn't drive it today, but maybe by the week

Very nice, Glenn!

Do you have the (very rare and hard to find) trim pieces that go around the grille? If not, and I didn't have them for mine, what I did was use some flexible chrome trim with adhesive backing. I put it on with plans to replace it when (and if) I found the proper pieces. Never did find them.

Re: I didn't drive it today, but maybe by the week

I couldn't find any trim pieces. I figured the best thing to do was to go without.

I am going to do some custom bumpers. The front will essentially be a badge bar with locations for the fog lamps.

I'm just waitting on the glass shop to install new glass in the windshield, then I may be on the road. That, and a couple other minor things.

That's a real beaut. That's tons better/smoother than the original body work and paint that came on these ol' cars! You'd put a stored original to shame.

I am driving mine to the repair shop tomorrow, does that count?!

As long as you drive under the power of the car, It counts! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Awesome to behold.

I plead total ignorance.
What is that beautiful auto?
A Triumph what???

Re: I didn't drive it today, but maybe by the week

I hope to be driving mine back home from the shop by Friday. That will definitely count!

What did Rick have to do, clear out the entire garage to get that car out? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I saw your car there a week or so ago, and it looks even better in person...

Good luck!

Re: I didn't drive it today, but maybe by the week

I believe that it's a 1957 TR3.

[/ QUOTE ]Inasmuch as technology has made possible great leaps in finishes, not to mention the sheet metal forming and assembly that precedes the finishing, that might be true.

On the other hand, I first saw in the early 1980s a 1960 TR3A that had, at the time, somewhere between 3000-4000 ORIGINAL miles. It was, essentially, still a virtually new car, with everything except for fluids original. The car was black, with blue interior and white top/side curtains, wire wheels and Dunlop wide whites. Again, all orginal, and DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS. Were it not for the 30 years of damp storage my 50k mile, 99% original Herald convertible suffered before I bought it, that car would be about the same. They could, and DID, build some pretty nice cars back then; not every one of them, but a lot of them!

Oh, I next saw that same TR3A seven years ago. Still the same folks who had bought it from the original owner (actually his estate, or something like that). They'd been carefully using and enjoying the car, and it was beginning to show a bit of real wear. Still a stunning car, though.
