I'll bet.... Getting close now.

I can indeed see light at the end of the tunnel and for the first time in a very long time I feel as if I really have a shot at driving this beast again soon!

PS: Another cool video (a bit long and some of the music could have been better, but...)

and how is it possible to place a video on a post? or is that a priviledge reserved for the Web maister?

I mean, I can't even post a picture at times, much less a video.

Ex

First, while viewing the video on You Tube, copy the URL of the video while on the You Tube Site. Then, make your post USING THE FULL EDITOR (not the quick editor). The full editor has all the edit feature buttons like similes, bold text, italics, etc. Then while making your post, click the "video" icon:
media.gif
and "past" the You Tube URL into the popup box.

That's it.

When'd ya go all fuschia on us, Basil?!?!

Think I'll "past" that, now. :smirk:

ok, but I'm referring to a short video file which I have in my computer, a video I made about a XJ-6 Turn Signal mod (modification) that anyone can do to their XJ-6. The video is not on Youhoo Tubie.

Ex

Can't do it then. You can, however, upload it to Youtube (if you have an account). It's pretty easy. Then you can do as I described.

alright, I just don't care for you tube. way too crowded and a lot of porno going on there, so I'm sure you understand I would not want to keep that company.

Ex

Google Video, MySpace Video and Yahoo Video will also work.

Basil,
thanks man.

what about a file hosting service like FileAve.com ? just placing a link to the file in the posting...?

I like FileAve because it is not invasive with advertisements or popups, it's very "quiet" there. They accept MP3, video, and JPG, very simple to operate.

Ex

You might be able to post a link to the video that way, but not embed it like you can with You Tube videos. My forum software just isn't designed to embed videos except those I've listed.

The only thing that "might" cause you a problem is if that service you mentioned doesn't allow "hot linking", but it wouldn't hurt to try it...just post the video and copy the URL, then use the URL link icon:
hyperlink.gif
in the editor here to "paste" the URL to the video as a link people can click on.

So, it's September??????????
