Re: I called Jet Hot about my peeling SS headers..
I sent in a cast iron for coating years ago when they only offered one coating. When it returned, I noticed a large crack that was hidden under the years of crud. Well they coated it anyway. So when I complained about coating a cracked manifold, they said they would refund all $$, but only after I sent back the header and removed all of their coating. Got a complete refund.
Your header looks like their basic ceramic coating, prior to the introduction of Sterling coatings. Sterling has a lifetime warranty while the ceramic (which is far duller than the new coatings) has a 3-year warranty. If you are within this 3-year from purchase period or not, call them anyway but be prepared to send it back for stripping and recoating. They might re-do regardless, if you're pleasant on the phone (even if they're not.) I usually start such a phone conversation with "I'm not sure you can help me, but ..." - it seems to challenge them to help rather than put them on the defensive. Escalate to a manager if you need. IMO if they do it, great. And if not, look for a DIY coating.
I have since changed over to a header, had them Sterling coated and am still very pleased with Jet-Hot's product. And would do it again.
