I am often pleased by the iPhone photosโ€ฆ

iPhones can take nice snapshots. I use mine often for taking spur of the moment photos when pulling out a camera isnโ€™t practical or necessary.

I take many snaps with my Samsung phone. Usually sunrises on my way to work. This one is today's. The lights on the right side are coming from Ft. Sill.

Interesting you posted this, Dave. I got notice that our carrier will no longer support my RAZR Motorola flip-phone, so I'm forced to move to the dark side. Got an older Samsung Galaxy Android and will be experimenting with the camera feature. I'll still keep a "real" camera with me, but will also maintain that a Pulitzer will soon be awarded to a cell phone photo, just because it'll be "right place, right time."

Some days I strap my camera over my shoulder on my morning walk, but now often just use my iPhone 14 when I see something that I want to record. This was a capture this morning...View attachment 97174
I agree the iPhone is great for what I would call "snapshots" or quick images to share on social media. It's what I often use when taking the grand daughter to the park and I just want to gather some memories.

But, If I'm wanting to take serious photos, where a very good lens and fast shutter speeds, etc., are required, then I'm taking my R5. For example, a shot like this, with a 135mm f/2 lens taken from high up in the viewing stands in poor lighting would be impossible with an iPhone.
