Link doesn't work - but sentiment certainly does - be safe Florida friends - and indeed all in that part of the world

It is almost 5:00 AM here and I have been awake all night except for when I nodded off for about 2 hours. I fell asleep when Doug's flight finally took off from Dallas/Ft.Worth to West Palm Beach. He was scheduled to arrive originally at 12:15 AM. He finally arrived at about 5:00 AM. He got a rental car and I just spoke to him about 10 minutes ago and he is in Okeechobee at Mickey D's having breakfast. Why would he be there? Doug is going to be with my daughter, Amy, to help her ride out Matthew. As you all know her husband passed but 10 weeks ago and it has always been for the most part just she and Kenny. They were each other's lives. Amy was totally alone with her animals to care for and a house to board up and make as hurricane resistant as possible. Fortunately Doug is there now and together they will ride out Matthew. To say I am grateful for Doug and his caring for my daughter is just not enough. In every marriage we have ebbs and flows but Doug is one of the good guys. When I tried to thank him he simply said "She's your daughter and this is what I am supposed to do." To honor your stepchild like this is indeed a high compliment. To honor your wife like this is true love. I just want to publicly say to Doug - I love you and thanks for being the good guy that when push comes to shove always does the right thing even when he doesn't have to. I will be also riding out Matthew in my safe corner of the world but will be praying for the best results. Stay save all my friends in the path of this horrific storm. I will be praying for you all.

This was link that didn't work. Needed to share.

Praying for all concerned also. No link in your latest post. On the first link, maybe you didn't capture (copy) all of the numbers on the tail end of the URL?

Were also praying for our family in South Carolina, who mostly live along the coast, all under 25 miles inland from the beach. I hope it turns seaward. PJ

Lots of AF jet fighter traffic in the Columbus area as east coast air force bases are sending planes to Rickenbacker to weather out the storm. Good luck to you folks on the SE coast.

In proof reading the above I realize i'm getting so, so old- jet fighters? Duh...

All my in-laws are in the danger zone "down there" and we're nervous as pregnant cats. Gotta just hunker down. The price paid for living in Endless Summer.

My son is in Boca on the edge of the really bad stuff. He's going to remain there and not go to the West Coast like I told him. He's lived through several typhoons in the Far East so this will just be another one. I also told him not to buy that Alfa until after the storm.

Hey Don (DNK)!
hope you hit the road heading inland early!

my son & family left St. Augustine last night. Leaving before the mass evacuation, they had no trouble getting out.

One of my sisters is a nurse in a Myrtle Beach hospital, she couldn't go anywhere if she wanted to. I'm sure they'll be very busy. PJ

Guy, hunkered down in Frederick Md
Closest dog friendly relative

Glad Matthew is over and done. Okeechobee and Palm Beach County dodged the bullet on this one. Hope all came out better than first expected.

A few pics of some minor Matthew problems. This fall and winters projects are going to start a little later than usual. Bugeye garage door hard to open.
Waiting on the water now to move down here from Greenville. Large estimate from the weather folks.
