MGB-GT Hunting for a RHD B or BGT

I've had a strict one-car-at-a-time policy for some time, and have spent the last 5 years or so getting the Tunebug back on the road. Now that it's drivable again, I find my interests expanding to something a bit more comfortable and long-legged -- so maybe it's time for a second car. I've even got the wife's agreement, always helpful for future marital success.

Specifically, I'm looking for a MGB or MGB GT with overdrive, right hand drive, 5-main engine, '67 or earlier. I understand all the implications involved, and know that this search might take some number of years to complete. I'm in no rush. Not looking for a project unless it's particularly special somehow.

So if y'all run across something that would fit the bill, let me know.

Now now, JP, I'm not selling the Tunebug. Just looking for something that won't beat me to death on a long trip. Different horses for different courses. :smile:

Besides, MGBs and Bugeyes were both built in Abington by the same people.

Don't tell me, tell Tunebug, look into those sweet bug eyes and explain that you are looking for another love. Tell her you are an automotive mormon go ahead. :cryin: see how quickly that smile turns upsidedown.

but if you are determined to stray
RHD MGB

I know I live in Utah, but I'm not a Mormon (not that there's anything at all wrong with being one)...

How hard is it to get a car to the US from Canada?

No Jags for me. Too much maintenance expense for my budget. :smile:

only referring to automotive mormons. :whistle:

It's not hard Mark (Abarth69) can help he's done it before.

Find the body and convert it to RHD if that is what you want. PM me if you would like a roadster shell.
The collector in me isn't interested in a conversion, even though that might very well get me a better body shell. Silly, I know, as the end result is the same, but that's the way it is to me. Thanks for the offer, though. I do appreciate it.

I have contacted the seller, we'll see if they're interested in dealing with a US buyer. It's a possibility -- thanks for the tip.

The Tunebug will be quite happy with any company. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.

I brought a car in from Canada once. The transport company took care of everything. It was painless for me. I don't remember what it cost to bring it over the border but it was surprisingly reasonable.

Sorry, haven't had a chance to inspect that other car yet. Work keeps getting in the way.

Drew;
I've seen that particular car. It is beautiful.
I've imported three cars from the US, and they say it is easier the other way.
If you need an inspection or anything else, I'm only about two hours from Windsor. I will help in any way possible. Even delivery as I can get a trailer.

Dave :savewave:

Good Luck
P.S. My family is Mormons, we like lots of excess

No problem Steve, I'm really in no rush.

Dave, I will take you up on that offer if the car looks interesting and the seller is willing to deal with a US buyer. I've got a message in...

Good hunting, get ready to rearrange that garage again.

Drew;

Check your e-mail. I sent you a short novel and some photos.
Let me know what you think.

Dave :thumbsup:

Drew,

You could always attend MG2011 in Reno.I'm sure that there will be
cars for sale there.

- Doug

I may be there after all, Doug, but I won't be shopping for a car if all goes well...
