Got a message from my Wife's brother yesterday morning.About 3:30 AM
they got hit with a 6.5 quake.Luckily,only two people died, & because there
aren't a lot of tall buildings,there wasn't mass major damage.
As I was a volunteer firefighter for 35 years there,I think of all of the cops,
firefighters & utility workers who put in countless hours during an emergency
like this.A lot of the work is boring,like keeping people away from hazards like
downed power lines,broken gas lines,unsafe buildings,& broken glass.
Man,I wish I could have been there to help.
