Hub to Disc Conversion

OK..point me to where I can find some materials on converting an Autsin front brake setup from hub to disc. The Austin A-35 that's heading to me from Tenessee has a disc brake conversion package included. I had originally anticiapted just replacing the bad cyclinders in the left front wheel but the seller convinced me the disc setup is the better approach....lead me, point me and I'll make it the first project.I'm a man and can change....I guess...if I have to..OK....

I guess you mean Drum to Disc? I would imagine that the conversion means replacement of the drum setup by s disk setup from a later BMC offering; Spridget maybe?

Does the A35 have the same front suspension bits as a Healey 100? If so, there are conversion kits available to convert to discs. I got mine from Denis Welch Motorsports in the UK. At first it didn't include an assortment of shims to adjust the bearing end float so they sent me some gratis. Good kit, works fine.

To AH100M, the A35 is the little Austin sedan that was the mechanical basis for the Sprite. All Sprites from Mark 2A on with 1098cc motor had disc brakes fitted standard.

I believe the A35 has the same suspension components as those used for Sprites.

As with the Big Healeys I believe the disc brake conversion bits are all bolt on to the same suspension mounting points, so conversion should be a fairly straighforward bolt on process as long as all the parts are there.

Good Luck!

Greg
