ok we are putting back together the Rear Diff on the XJ300

the Right wheel hub seems floppy, My memory is i did that one 2 years ago. shouldnt it all tighten up when we put the Hub nut on?

Should. Always. Can't have wobble there.
Distance pieces all back in place as they came out?

If so, and bearings are seated, bearings are either bad or the hub is shot where the mount.

Usually.

ok we havent put the nut back on yet, we are fighting with getting the handbreak cable replaced. and it looks like we need to pull apart the left side to put some shims in. in good news I got the polyurathain bushings onto the MGB.

ok trying to get this all back together, the inner bearing shims on the diff are not a valible and mine are worn. looks like if we go from a 7.5 shim on the exteranl U joint up to a 8.5 to take up the Laderal movment will that be a problem?

this is the XJ? Independent rear? You were talking hub, now you're in the diff?
You ever set one up?

Farm it out. Mail it off.
You don't want your first to be that, 'cause if it isn't right, whole lotta work AND parts to fix it.

yes im haveing friend of mine do it. im busy breaking things on the mgb
