TR2/3/3A Hub Caps won't fit - TR3A

Hi Guys,

Trying to put on my new hub caps, I realised that 2 out of 4 Wheel rims do not have the same distance between pegs so the hubcaps won't hold. In fact the distance of those 2 is smaller. Has anyone got a trick or a solution to make this work or I simply need new rims?

I haven't experienced that -- how much closer are the pegs on the 2 that won't hold a cap? IOW - do you just need to make up a small fraction of an inch or do you need new pegs?

Are the wheels otherwise identical? I recall seeing some wheels very similar to TR3A wheels but with (15?) holes evenly spaced all around rather than 3 groups of 4.

MGA wheels have 15 holes evenly spaced; but ISTR there was some reason they didn't fit a TR3. Rubbed on the brake caliper, maybe.

Post us a picture. My guess would be MGA wheels as well. If I remember right, the MGA wheels have more of a flat button for the hubcap where the TR's are pointed. I have plenty of TR wheels if needed but shipping to QC would be pricey.

Here aree 2 pictures. The good one has a hub cap, the bad one does not. I remember that I had to buy some Wheel spacers cause the rims were touching the calipers....I tout it was stupid...

Yes, MGA wheel with the studs removed. You going to have to find a couple of TR wheels.

I have a couple of TR3 rims in my garage. Were in QC are you? I'm just South of Ottawa. Can't vouch for staightness of rims though. Cheers, Mike
