HS2s VS 45 DCOE

So what are the pros and cons? I am sure some have you have driven your cars with both.

My motor will be a semi warmed up 1275, probably bored to 1380 with a mild cam and LCB header.

From what I've read in Vizards book the intake manifold id the HS2s biggest problem. So my options are to have the HS2s modded and mount them on the APT intake or a whole 45 DCOE set-up...... do really like the look of the honking 45 weber!

Thanks in advance guys

The good thing about DCOE's is that they are infinitely adjustable. The bad thing about DCOE is that they are infinately adjustable. Unless you have a pro helping you set up your engine and carb, using a DCOE can be a rewarding but expensive proposition. Personally, I'm a SU guy. I love their simplicity.

The 45 DCOE was probably the single most speed producing improvement I ever did. I love it!
I tried the 1.75 SU as per Vizard and there is just no comparison to the Weber.
The down side is your gas mileage will drop to around 20 mpg.
So on those 2 day trips, I swap weber for twin SUs and get 30+ mpg again. But around town and for spirited drives, nothing compares to a DCOE.

Well since I don't care about gas mileage,,,,, the weber sounds pretty awsome.

Thanks spritenut. What else have you done to your motor?

Thanks spritenut. What else have you done to your motor?

Aluminum flywheel, Adjustable timing gears and belt.
LCB header, ported head rim flow valves, bored .30 over and a 266 cam.

"if you do stick with the S.U.'s, then HS2s are too small for the engine are planning"

Hmmmmmm, thanks Alec! guess I don't need any more convincing. unless someone drops a set of 1.5s into my garage tonight or the SU fairy visits me i'll be getting a Weber DCOE for the car.
