So I have tried a few times to find a new correct hose
never found one.
so the one I'm using is ancent and for all I know from the 60's
its starting to worry me to where astetics no longer out weigh safety
but I still want the the correct one.
where can I find one?

Do NOT use the braided hoses from VB. I had two of them fail on me quickly. The problem is in the connectors at the end of the braiding -- they come off. If you try to put them back on, then the braiding starts to come undone, which causes them to fail even more.

I just went up to my local auto parts store, showed them the braided hose, and told them just to get me a fuel line without braiding. $3.84 later, I was back in business.

Easiest way is to push the braided shielding together from both ends and pull out and replace the fuel hose with new hose- now you have the original look and new hose. Pretty easy

Just fired up the Bugeye for the spring and see that my carb to carb braided fuel hose is leaking at the carb connection. I think the braided hose came from VB. I will try to save the braiding and insert a new hose for Oreilly auto parts. What is the correct diameter hose (HS2/1275cc).

Looks like its a 1/4 in fuel hose, but the OD of the VB hose is smaller and the braided sheath won't fit over regular 1/4 in fuel hose - that won't work.
