How'd I do? Body Panels Purchase...

2 complete doors and front fenders off a '67 Midget for my '68 Sprite. Body panels in great shape, glass good, interior bad (don't need it, don't care). Got the fenders for $41 each, the complete doors $25 each. I have to drive 260 miles each way to pick them up, but a buddy and I are going to head out on Sunday for a guy's day - leave the wives at home.

So, good prices? I figure new the doors and fenders would have been $1,750 or so. He has a boot lid on ebay for $10 too, might try and get him to end that early if there are no bidders and take that too. Mine had a luggage rack and I never got the holes filled in smoothly enough. It's worth $10 to save my time!

great start. i'm restoring a 67 sprite so any comments or info would be appreciated.

I did real good last week too. And just by asking the Ebay seller if I could come pick up the $7 dashboard I won.
He said sure, bring a truck and cash.
So for $200 I got 4 fenders, 4 doors, 2 windshields, my dash and another dash with all the gauges and a complete wire harness, a right 1/4 panel, 4 seats, a few racks, drive shafts, diffs, axles, spindles, A arms, a dozen shocks, and several boxes of *stuff*. I am still trying to sort it.
At least 3 different cars worth of parts.
And just because I asked if I could pick up a $7 part.
Sometimes you get lucky. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

woah spritenut, that's insane! Good deal! I was hoping he'd have some more stuff laying around, but it sounds like this is about it for his Midget extras. I'm still hoping!

What kind of windshields & seats (later or earlier styles)? I would be interested (if right stuff) in some of you duplicated parts if you want to part with any of them.

I bought the parts in south Jersey but the seller got them from Maryland. I don't know when but that's what he said.
Bugeye and later windshields, MKIII Sprite and 70s Midget seats in usable condition, not rags but not new.

Do you want to part with a bugeye windshield? (preferrably the two-pin type!)

i'm not a betting man but i have a feeling i know who we are talking about. recently had a conversation with some from MD told me to visit and bring cash. haven't found the time but may be heading that way soon.

fmichael, where are you located in Pa., east or west? I used to live in Bradford and Pittsburgh. Great LBC country, lots of fun roads!!

Mike: we, too used to live in the PGH area: Sewickley. GREAT roads for LBC's there.

Yep, I really learned to drive on the old oil-lease roads around Bradford. What a hoot! You just don't find roads you can do a little dirt-tracking on any more at least not ones you can keep out of trouble doin it. Down here in Fl. one is really hard pressed to find an enjoyable stretch of road. Everything is flat and straight! If it is unpaved, it's too sandy.

just outside philly, about 30 miles in pottstown. about 4.5 hours from pittsburgh

Gotcha! Not too far from New Hope etc. Nice country, good driving. Used to tour throughout that area on weekends when I lived on the Jersey shore after college (Pitt)!
