How to post pictures?

Maybe more than one way, but here is what I do...

Get the photo from your PC to the web. I use the web space provided to me by my ISP. You will need an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) a program that does the transfer. I use one called CoreFTP, they have a free version you can download.

Once it is on the web, copy the link.

Using the 'Advanced Editor' mode on the forum select the image icon.

On my machine I have to tell it to temporarily allow it to post images. A box will appear where you can then paste the URL you copied.

Walla! The pic is in your post.

If you just have a few photos you want to post and this sounds like a lot of trouble... you could email the photos to me and I can get them on the web and send you the URL and some specific instructions. All you would have to do is slap that into your post.

Hi Bill,

I use photobucket. If you would like to do the same, you can open a free photobucket account and upload your photos from your computer there. To post them here after you have uploaded them, click on the IMG link to highlight it and copy the string and past it here. FYI, on photobucket there are four options to pick...IMG is the bottom of the 4 that will show underneath the photo that you have uploaded.

Send me a PM if you would like me to walk you through it a little more in detail.

Cheers,
David

Same here. "Copy" the image (IMG) using "EDIT" then "paste" on your Forum post from same "EDIT" or simply "Ctrl V" on your keyboard.
When you click preview or submit the post, the picture will appear.

I always use the "File Manager" option when posting. It allows you to post pics from within your computer. The only problem you would run into is the size, as they are limited to 150k. If you have a way to re-size you pics, this is an alternative.

One good way to resize them is to download Irfanview.
https://www.irfanview.com/
Which also has some tools for cropping, color/contrast correction and so on.

But I still prefer to use Photobucket, as the File Manager option takes up space on Basil's server forever, which costs him money.
