Anybody is having a list which parts to get (kits ?) and what to change to make an Alger with a Ford V8 ?

First of all there is no kits. You must change firewall, transmission tunnel to accomodate the 289/302 nas the last 2 cylinders sit under the cowell. You will need to change steering to rack and pinion. You will need to buy motor mounts and mounting brackets.Make transmission mount.Probably go to shortened 8 inch Ford rear end.
OR you could go the ford 2.8 V6.This does have a kit available and makes it an easy conversion. The 2.8 can easily get up to 180 HP.
see.www.sunbeamalpine.org and go to modified and conversions.I'm sure it will be extermely interesting for you.
The 2.8s are reliable as I'm running the 2.6 Capri and have 132,000 miles since it went on the road in 1979.However it is time to do the clutch.

buy my 2600 v6/tranny
