Hello,

I've tried to fit my new stainless steel exhaust system in my BJ8 phase 2 with the complete AH spares fastening. But I'm not sure how to fix the fasteners and where to drill the holes in my new floors ...? Could someone help me by sending pictures of the original BJ8 exhaust system fixations ... It will help me so much ...
I guess to mount my exhaust tomorrow.

Thank you in advance for your help ...

Send me your PM to my message ctr and I'll send you pics of what I have. I made a similar request for the same thing you're asking for and I guess it's either TOP SECRET or nobody really knows and/or once a person goes through great pain finding the info, they must figure you should do the same. I asked for the front places to attach the front mounts and a vendor sent me a template for the rear resonator mounts. I have pics of mounting locations on an original car, but no measurements as of yet but I'll be happy to share. Measurements to be acquired at a later date, CAD drawing made and planning to retire after selling drawings.

I'd help if I could, but this is a tough one. If you've fitted new floor boards I would expect captive nuts, or at least holes, for the hangers to be already fitted/drilled. I put a new boot pan in and the holes were drilled for the hanger hardware but I had to weld in 'studs' made from ground down bolts and doublers. Not sure the holes are in the right place anyway; had to reposition the ears on my improvised resonators.

This is a terribly complex setup, there's a hanger with a 'T' up front just behind the cutout in the outrigger, two hangers diagonal to each other towards the rear of the floorboard, another hanger just before the 90-deg bend that's bolted to one of the chassis angle braces, and the two aforementioned holes with studs in the floor pan.

Plus, you need a boat load of hardware (usually comes as a kit). Think Rube Goldberg designed this system.

I sent him a lot of photos to help, but there's no measurements. I have access to an unmolested 67 BJ8 that I took about 35 pics of this area in hopes of helping me get everything lined up and the holes drilled in the correct place the first time around. I hope to go back to the same car and get detailed measurements and then do a CAD of them and make them available to whoever needs them. It may be a month or two away before I get to it.

Thanks Patrick, for your pictures and your help....
It helped me having an idea of the global area where to Locate the fixations, after adjusting the complete Exhaust, I made a reverse engineering and drill all the holes threw the floors panels ....
It was hard work, 2 people and 8 hours of working .... Ouahhh I expect to need less than 3 hours !

Thank you again for your help ....!.! :yesnod:

Like everything I end up doing on my Healey - think it will take "x" hours and ends up taking two or three times longer !!!!
