Great day's racing at Castle Combe on saturday however typical English weather meant there was sun and heavy rain at frequent intervals throughout the day. There were 2 Healey Drivers International races of 20 minutes each with the results of both races being aggregated to determine the overall result. Dual drivers were an option.

Results were

1st. Jack Rawles
2nd. Jack Chatham/ Oliver Chatham
3rd. David Grace.

Here is a video of Jack Rawles in the second race. He won both races.

Yes that was very unfortunate :sorrow: That was Mike Thorne who was well up with the leaders until he went off at Quarry. Quite a bad shunt as can be seen from the attached photo.

We've bought quite a few Healey's off John over the years, so it's good that Jack is following Dad.

Whenever I see Healey's racing, they seem to be driven by the most maniacal, as was John in his day. He was a lunatic on the road too and often disqualified.

It was a shame about the weather, but Jack Rawles seemed to revel in it, starting the races in the comparative dry and being overtaken, he soon gained first place when the rain came and stayed in front. By the way, Derek forgot to mention, that Jack is at the ripe old age of 19. Frightening!

BTW, John Chatham always said that it you did not come off at Quarry, you were not driving fast enough.

Bob
