OK - lots of you guys have asked that I put the article back on my web site...so, I've done it! I'll still be working on it & the site through the weekend but its there for you to start reading, if you like.

There's still somework I want to do to it so bear with me as I take photos, correct grammatical issues & try to improve it (actually, I'm thinking about expanding it into a book!)

Wow.
That's the scariest thing I've ever read and am guilty of not doing 95% of those things and wishing I had. Something I will do next time.....looking for BGT......

Nice read, Tony.

I fail to see how anyone would think that you were "cheating" them out of their MG.

Glad it's back. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Nice work, Tony. Wish I had that when I started the quest. Learned many of those lessons the hard way--hopefully other new buyers will learn from your article. I can understand why some sellers would feel badly about your approach, but I'd figure they would be the folks with things to hide. An honest seller has no fears and knows what their car is really worth. They don't have to sell it, any more than you have to buy it.

Reading through your article makes me long a bit for my car hunting days again. I spent a few months going to look at every LBC for sale in the area. It was really quite a bit of fun. Makes me wish I had a barn and the means to stay on the market.

You could use the, [Pick Up and Shake Method]! Get a bunch of guys, pick up the car, shake it like crazy, and if less than a dozen things fall off, Buy it! The less things that fall off, the shorter the rebuild time. Oh well, it sounded good at the time. Sometimes a little humor is good in a serious situation. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gifPJ
