I replaced all of the door surround trim on a BJ8 with new Moss material. The aluminum grips on it do not hold very well compared to the original steel ones. The trim keeps coming loose. Any ideas on how to keep the new trim in place?

I pulled all mine off, squirted clear low modulus silicone bath sealant into the groove and put it back - works a charm so far.
Re: How do you keep after market rubber trim in pl
This is interesting. I have the moss stuff on for two plus years with out a problem. If I remember correctly there are metel teeth with barbs on them. You might try twisting the barbs and squeezing the metal to get a better bite avery two to four inches. I remember doing that at the ends.
Re: How do you keep after market rubber trim in pl
The stuff I got last winter had aluminum instead of a harder metal and it relaxes almost immediately. I've talked to a number of others at differenct shows and they have the same problem. Glueing is an option but I'd like to just get a better product.
No Lin , I do not have a sample. However the rubber seal is a little larger in diameter and it has the hard metal teeth not the floppy aluminum stuff used on the current Moss Healey version.
