the mess after hitting the grease spots with grease?

i found 6 spots on the front suspension to grease, 3 on the left and 3 on the right

i was hoping this would eliminate a squeaky front end I have. while it seemed to help on the right side of the car, I still have a loud squeak on the left side

but in hitting the grease spots I found I created quite a mess, there's grease all over the nipples, and where the grease oozed out. there's a huge mess, that I can't seem to get clean.

anyone have a trick? how do I get all that grease cleaned up?

If anything I just use a paper towel & wipe off excess.
I'm not running a surgical unit or anything under there though.

Wipe off what you can with a dry paper towel then hit it with carb cleaner and wipe off the rest then a spray grease remover like 409 or something for the final touch.

I know, that's overkill but I hate to get my hands dirty when working on Miss Agatha.

well, I had been just trying to wipe it off, but like Jack, I hate getting dirty when working on the car.

so it's OK to spray cleaner products in there? it won't seep into to fitting and take out what I just pumped in?

I shall give it a try !!

thanks for your tips.

Ever hear of gloves? Vinyl gloves?
For me I just keep a jug of that citrus smelling hand cleaner in each car and another in the bathroom.
To each his own

Don't need a lot of cleaner to get the grease off unless.............use the cleaner stuff, re greese and remove excess with paper towels. Go on to the next area.

About getting in the fittings, don't use that much. Just enough to cut the film.
