TR6 How Do I Remove the Vacuum Hose Base?

I need to replace the master cylinder on the TR6 ('74-1/2),
& would like to paint the booster,before installing the new one.
Is it hard to remove the White piece that the hose slips over,
or would it be easier just to tape it off before painting?

There is some rotation involved aligning ears on the 'non-return' valve with slots in the servo..then pull.
