how change drum brakes to disc?

i have a bn6 that has drum brakes on the front that i would like to change to the disc brakes from a 3000. i already have the spindles, hubs, rotors, and the parts to bolt the cal. to the car. what do i need to to do with the master cylinder? can i use the same one or do i need to get a new one? what else have i overlooked?

Well Drew, you might give some consideration to adding the Brake booster too along with this change. This change will require changing the Master Cylinder also.---Fwiw---Keoke.

keoke, and perhaps new brake lines? dont ya think? i dont know what shape his old ones are in but id get new ones speacialy ifin hes gunna add a new b.m.c. and booster? never liked them things me self! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

I too have a BN6, and I used a set of brackets and calipers from a pre-BJ8 (3000 MKIII) 3000. I opted for the non-servo brake master cylinder (and no servo).

I used new rotors and had some disc wheel hubs turned out of 4140 on cnc machines (couldn't find any originals).

All bolted onto my original spindles with no mods. You mentioned spindles, are you using parts from a BJ-8? If so, you may need to go with a servo, as those are larger calipers (more fluid volume to displace).

Classic Tube will do a full set of stainless steel lines for your car; I just put them on my car a couple months ago.

As the (hub) work was being done by a friend, at a machine shop where I regularly did control work on some of the machines, it took almost two (2) years for them to complete the six (6) hubs. Two (2) hubs were for the guy that had originally supplied me with an NOS BJ-8 bolt-on wheel hub (had to make allowances for the different outer bearing) and the rest were for me, keeping a set as spares.
