How can you really tell how old a tire is?

Nick, I just learned today how to read the current codes. 1908 means that they were built in the 19th week of 2008. I had to check the date on my wife's car and that is what I found out from my tire guy. Her's were produced in 3206 which translates to the 32nd week of 2006. At leat that is what is currently going on with tire dating.

Yikes! Someone must be watching over me. I have tires on my TR3 that were put on in maybe 1989. I ran in a auto cross once a year for years in a row up to 04 with no problems. Today another 100 miles. Thanks for the post. Looks like I'm in the market for new tires. Guess we have guardian angles for a reason.
