Yup, pretty much what I figured. I'm no better off than I was looking at pictures on the internet.
I THOUGHT John was painting a couple doors or body panels Friday or today, but just talked to Chuck who's at the shop and he's bringing cans home.

And they wonder why I can't decide on a color. I'm getting NO help here at all. I'll take a danged paintbrush and slop some paint on something myself.

It changes when drying and also based on the undercaot and the number of coats. To get a better idea of how it will look.
Prime some sheetmetal and test spray it with a couple of coats of each colour. Look at it outside, inside, in the dark, sunlight etc to see if you like the colour.

PAINT CHIPS - every auto paint shop has them...just go down, open their book & pick one...a little paint on a door is no better than a chip...when the entre car is done, it will look different than just one small panel

Well, painting a door won't make it any easier!
It'll actually slow things down as you've got to strip all that paint off & reprep the door!

And don't forget the contrasting colors like wheels, chrome trim, tires, door caps, etc. You may be making too much of it. Find a color in a book you like, or print out photos from the internet (use paper, not a computer screen) and take that photo to your painter. Tell him you want the color to look like that in the sun.
Better yet, enlarge an area of the photo to 8x10 and hand it to him on glossy or semigloss photo paper. Then when the car is done you can hold that paper up to the car and make sure it matches.

I would sample a few and pick the one that is closest to how you envisioned it. After two or three coats see how it looks in the sun, if Binabox, is not to your liking, give her a good wet sanding and change the colour.
Remember it always looks better when all the neat LBC parts go back on it.

I'm tempted on the devil's head.
We have 3 pints of paint and a book of all the different grays. I just don't know what I'm going to paint, other than one of our vehicles, unless I snag some parts off the donor car. Chuck's not answering his cell. Go figure. He's had it a whole week. Probably has it turned off.
I know it will look perfect once it's all together. I'm stressing too much.

I had originally picked two shade of purple for the GT. When Mangles did a test spray for me, the panels looked COMPLETELY different than the paint chips that I got from DuPont.
Also...be sure to view any sample sprays out in the sublight, as well as under the lights in a parking lot at night. You will be surprised.
