Hot Rod Healey question, frame color...

I've got a 100-Six chassis with a Fiberfab Jamaican body which I going to paint Aston Martin Racing Green with an Old English White stripe down the middle. I will be tearing down the whole chassis to install all of the components on my good, unrusty frame and while doing so will paint it, but what color?
I figure there are two options;
Body color because it's cool when Healeys have body colored chassis's like stock...
Black because the Heritage Certificate says the car was originally black with red trim, and it's just more reasonable as a hot rod with such a modified configuration anyway...
Opinions are solicited, thanks as always guys,
Chris...

Hi Chris,

My BJ8P1 was originally and is still OE White with a black interior. However, when new, I never thought that the OE White presented the metallic green engine well in the engine compartment, presented a clean appearance in the wheel wheels, and shined like a beacon everywhere the interior black panels or rug did not completely cover. During my rebuild, I considered originality, but chose to use Ford engine compartment black paint on everything under the exterior panels and have been happy with that decision. It has been very resilient over the years and can easily be matched if chipped or scratched.

Good job,
Ray (64BJ8P1)

Stunt, I would go with semi-gloss black on frame, suspension, engine compartment. Be sure to start a build thread so we can follow your progress!

On my opinion the Classic choice ...same color of body are the better the engine bay appear in all beauty when you open your hood- especially in a Jamaican full opening
in the past I have one FHC Jaguar with black engine bay .....NO challenge with the red engine bay of my AH--
waiting the photos progress
Cheers
For true, all the FHC was BLACK:smile-new:
