One of my two horns works fine. The other, second in line, is receiving power and the ground wire is firmly grounded. When I push the horn button a test light on positive wire of my non-working horn lights up. In other words, either my horn is dead (I've not heard what kills a horn) or something else is eluding me. What's internal to a TR4 factory horn. Any ideas?

Has the second horn worked previously? Internal issues such as burned contact? rusty stuff in the horn mechanism? loose wires? The horn, I believe is three chunks of metal: two parts, sort of the body, and the vibrating diaphagm. Then there is the electrical stuff. I drilled the rivets on a horn, cleansed contacts and diaphragm but couldn't get the enough pressure on the new rivets when reassembling the horn.

+1 on Trevor's comment.

The vibrator is likely frozen. Carefully open it up and free the vibrator assembly.

(and be sure to disconnect the wires first ... if you want to keep your hearing!)

If I drill the rivets will I have the issue Trevor mentions? My rivet tool was made by Fischer Price.

According to my mechanic, the Fisher-Price tool (or a few small nuts and bolts) will work.

Say - is there a tone-adjusting screw on your horn? If so, have you tried turning it back and forth? Might free up a frozen mechanism.

I did spin that screw, but maybe too gently. I’ll whirl it around a bit and try a new horn if need be. Thanks much—

Moss makes it appear they sell an exact replica. Wonder where manufactured.

Are the rivets really an issue getting the horn back together do you know? My track record messing up parts isn’t exactly honorable mention.
