Hood release cable help

Rats, I just pulled my cable out to run some silicone lube down the cable, straighten out the bends in it, and make some new fasteners to hold it, and realized I don't know which way it routes! I put it through the 3/4" hole which I forgot was the place to access the radiator shroud bolt. I'm drawing a blank on how it gets to the latch. Anybody got a tip?

On earlier cars I think it just slipped through the gap by the splash panel, but I have no idea on a 1500.

I think you may be right, I noticed there was a gap there. Got it working again anyway, and I don't have to do the skinny arm through the front bumper trick to open it. Thanks!

Not sure on the 1500s but the earlier cars cable made a loop around the latch and had a double hole cable end.
On a side note, especially on 1500s, run an extra cable or coat hanger from the latch to the inside of the left fender.
This is just in case the original cable breaks. On the egg crate grilles, you can reach the latch with a screw driver, it's tough on a 1500 with that mesh grille.
