Wife went out early to do some shopping. Phone rang 4 minutes later. Wife irate. Car stalled out on busy road and would not start. She called AAA.I got dressed, threw some jumper cables in the Subaru and headed out. Started right up with the cables. I told her to head to NAPA - about 3 miles away, and she did. Cancelled AAA. Car stalled again but started right up. Bought a new battery at NAPA and shop next door installed it for $25.00. Too busy to check codes. Wife drove home and reported car ran much better including transmission shifts - they had been jerky. In these modern cars, a low battery causes all kind of problems, even transmission shifts. Monday the car goes in to have the codes checked. Meanwhile, NAPA counterman offered me $2,500.00 for the car. I'm tempted -but what then?
