I went & visited with an old friend -
yes he's older than I am.He's a master mechanic
at the local Honda/Mazda/Toyota dealership.He's
got a bunch of interesting Japanese cars at his
place.There's a Toyota Starlet,an early 80's Toy-
ota 4WD pickup,A supercharged MR2,& a couple of
CRXs.He told me he'd give me one of the CRXs if
I wanted it.It's a White early version,no rust,
needs some work.I'm thinking about taking it.
Your thoughts?

Jump on it! They're quick, fun cars. Just keep in mind the size is small compared to the rest of the traffic around you. Drive it like an LBC.

Doug;

What year and model. I worked for Honda Canada for 25 years and I love the CRX.
If you need to know anything, just PM me. I'll be glad to answer any question you have. Ron McPherson is also very well versed in Hondas.

If you decide you don't want that car I'll take it!!!

Dave :cheers:

When did the Starlet become so interesting :jester: I have one of the last Starlets ('98) great fun little car but interesting is pushing it a bit.

His Starlet is an early one.I just thought that
was interesting in that it's a small car & RWD.

I bet I can beat Dave to Eureka.

Doc;

If Doug says it's a go, the race is on!!!
And I got a Honda Accord, to speed me on my way (OK it's the wife's car, but I still can use it)!

Doug;

If it is fuel injected, they are almost bullet proof.
If it is carbureted, it could have bad idle. If so, it is vacuum leaks, an easy fix.
Other than that, a timing belt should be done (interference fit) and you've got cool transportation that gets well over 40 MPG.

Pics would be cool!

Hope this helps.
You can PM me for more info if needed.

Dave :savewave:

I have had three of them and would take another in a heartbeat.

And see my post here about bein' butt-kicked by a Civic. :wink:

Ordinarily that belt is an easy afternoon's work. Replace the water pump while you're in there.

I told my friend that I'd take it.
Like I really need another project to work on.
Anyone interested in a Datsun B210 hatchback,
or two?

- Doug

Weren't CRX's one of the cars that kicked off the "tuner" craze? I had a Starlet in college....that was a fun little car.
