....& it was the plane trip from you know where!!
Y'day evening, I printed off my boarding passes - everything was good....I even had my 1st class upgrades!
This morning I got to the airport to check my baggage at 5:50am...Delta desk person told me I was on an earlier plane from Atlanta to Huntsville because they had cancelled my flight as no crew as available...she didn't say anything about changing my flight from KC to Atlanta - so I went to breakfast.
Got to my gate about a half hour before flight was to leave to find they had also changed me to a 6am flight from KC to Atlanta (when I had walked by the gate on the way to the restaurant, there was no plane there so it had left before I even got my bags checked!)
Back to desk & got put back on my original flight - except now my 1st class upgrade had gone to somebody else & I was in row 25D (next to a 500 pound rugby player I later learned!)
Got to gate to check in (2nd time through security!) & my new boarding pass was for the plane tomorrow! As was my flight from Atlanta to Huntsville...they got me on the flight to Atlanta though but without a seat on the plane from there to Huntsville.
Got to Atlanta & worked on getting a seat on the plane to Huntsville - that left Atlanta 4-1/2 hours after I arrived! You ever sat in the Atlanta airport for 4-1/2 hours? It was overbooked & they were offering $400 Delta dollars & free meal in Orlando, FL to anybody who would be diverted to Orlando & would spend the night (on their own dollar)....after raising you know what over the entire fiasco, I got a seat & they checked on my baggage - it had arrived on the flight with me, thank goodness.
So, I left the hotel in KC on the 5:40am shuttle & Jerri picked me up at the Huntsville airport at 4pm!!
But, now I'm having my first home cooked meal in a month.
