Hole pattern on spare tire lock covers???

I bought two of the chrome lock covers for the spare tire cover that do not fit. The holes for the screws are too close together. Does any one know if the "leaf" style covers have different hole pattern than the round??? I really think these parts were manufactured wrong and will probably send them back. The round ones are original to my car, and I think the spare tire door is original to the car. Thanks, Joe

Would have thought the Leaf style covers had the same screw hole measurements. I've swapped tire covers around over the years and have never run into that problem. Do let us know what you find out.

I believe the round cover on the spare tire cover is original to all TRs. The "fig leaf" covers were for the trunk lid on earlier cars. And since I've seen cars with the round cover on the trunk lid, I think the bolt pattern is the same.
 
The round ones fit my TR2 trunk lid as well as my tire cover......pattern is the same...........
 
OK before sending them back I checked one more time. One package was marked Made In UK, one was marked Made In China...the one I tried to fit. Made in UK fits. Rather than go through sending one back I reamed out the holes a little and got it to fit. Seems to me that more and more parts are requiring a little fine tuning these days, even from 6 years ago when I had my last TR3.
 
Amend to the parts quality. I had a gas jet sticking in a 175 ZS carb sticking today. I opened a kit to get a new one out. Luckily I checked it before I installed the carb. It was sticking more than the old one. Washed it a few time and reinstalled the old one.
