I have been to Santa Fe several times, but never knew about this until we went there with our long-time friends, Gary and Julia (I met Gary in Engineering school).

Gary is retired now and is a Docent at the National Atomic Museum in Albuquerque. This address, 109 E. Palace Street, Santa Fe is where everyone who worked on the first A-bomb at Los Alamos passed through to be in-processed for this super secret project. This is the address that received ALL of their mail and all phone calls to Los Alamos were channeled through this location. Of course at the time, this location's real purpose was classified above Top Secret. Gary told me that at the museum they have recreated this doorway as an entrance into one of the exhibits.

Surprisingly unassuming.
