MGB hinge on 73 MGB

Is the hinge riveted on or held in place with little screws?

Mine are blind rivets. They have to be drilled out, replaced, and peened. It isn't hard to do. You have to order those rivets, Moss has them.

Seems to be the season for vent windows. Mine are loose also, with a sort of in-out motion of the top and bottom along the axis of the hinge. Got that annoying "wind-wing whistle" going with 'em closed. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I've got an NOS roadster hinge assembly somewhere in the garage. I bought it on eBay a while ago; turned out to be the wrong side. You can have it for a song; which side do you need?

Scott - I'll give Sidney first dibs on this, but if he's not interested the one that's the worst on my car is the driver's side.

I'm nearly certain that's the side I have. Now I just need to find it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

It's out there somewhere... gimme a couple of days to find it. Last time I saw it, it still had the IBM punchcard stapled to the bag with the part number.

And a big "ROYSTON" inked across it, I'd bet. "Vanilla" or light blue?

Looks like Vanilla, Doc, you tell me /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif.

The good news is that I finally found it. The bad news is that it looks like it fits a GT/Right side.

17H-2509 RH Roadster (what I need)
17H-2510 LH Roadster
AHH-7694 RH GT (what I have)
AHH-7695 LH GT

Oh, Julian... ??? Got a vent window hinge on your To-Do list /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Boy if THAT don't bring a tear to me eye... Purchased after '68, as the UNIPART and LEYLAND marks is on it.

*sigh*

Th' good ol' days. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Well, now that I've found this, I'm happy to send it to anyone with a GT (or plans for a GT), for the price of postage.

... and I had better not see it on eBay /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

First PM claims it.

Holy crap! A punched card! Now THAT brings back some memories. I used to be able to read the Hollereth code on those things - without the printing across the top. Dang....

I have no idea why, but the original poster of this thread has asked to be removed, so I have deleted his account per his request. No idea what the problem may have been, but that's why you see "anonymous" for the initial post in this thread. Sorry guys,

Basil

Not a fan of old computer equipment maybe. Weird.

Somebody with the handle "Fred60" asked this exact question on the Moss forum (also 73 B). Wonder if it was ol' Sidney.

Well you know everyone can't like us. Too bad so sad and here we try our best.

Your price is a bit steep Scott. hehe.

Scott - I'll buy a BGT and get back to you! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif Thanks for the offer, by the way. That was decent.
