Hello all, just thought I might poke my head in the intro's.

Got a 1954 Hillman Minx Vii, which has been in my family for many years. My dad and grandpa had to drive the car to its current location in '91. I am told that there was alot of welding happened. And well, it has I am sorry to say, rotted a little more in a not so dry garage since.

Having just got back from the NEC Classic Car Show. My father and I are ready to tackle the Minx, and get it looking great again. Hope to be attending shows for its 60th anniversary, in 2014. I expect welding to be involved again, and no doubt a repaint.

I look forward to sharing the progress with everyone, and no doubt will have questions once the restoration gets underway.

Welcome! not many Hillman owners here (You might be the only one) but, don't let that dissuade you (I have a Vauxhall) there is a lot of experience here, and a lot of good conversation. Pictures are especially welcome - perhaps in the "other British Cars"

Welcome aboard. The first car I owned was a Hillman Minx. Back in 1960 I was in the Air Force in England when I bought it. I owned it for a couple of years until I bought the Sprite that I still own. The Hillman was a great car and never gave me any trouble. You should have fun with yours. Here is what mine lookied like.

Welcome to the BCF!

And it's welcome from me.... Never had a Hillman, but rode in several. They are good, reliable cars. You'll enjoy it on here, there are a couple of other Hillman owners who are members, and are US-based.

Perhaps you'll get some action in the "Other British Cars" sub-group (that I don't often look at but is filled with all sort of cars). Actually, there is a recent Minx post there not too long ago (as another introduction... don't think it was you ).

EDIT: just checked, and his handle is AtomChurch. He's posted pics of his 1951 Hillman.
