High Torque Starter Broken mount

Hi All,

My starter quit engageing a few weeks ago and I discovered that the bottem mounting tab was broken off clean allowing the starter to pitch at an angle and not engage the fly wheel.
It is one of the high torque starters and appears to be aluminum or cast aluminum. i havent taken the starter appart yet but it looks like that piece would seperate from the starter housing. Any one have an idea where I could source this part? Could it be welded back ? I suspect that when I recently put my transmission back in the car I must have had the starter placed in a bind when I tightened the bolts and caused it to break. I can't really see any other way it could have happened.
Best Regards
Bob

Those are adapters put onto a generic (usually Nipondenso) starters, so try contacting the source where you bought it, maybe you can get just the adapter replaced.

I do not think there's enough "meat" there for a satisfactory welded repair.
