Evening, can anyone give me a hint as to "why" when I push my high beam lever into position, pushing it towards the dash, both headlights go out. The headlights work on normal position. I can even pull the high beam lever foward, towards the driver, to flash the high beams and both headlights flash with high beam mode. Thanks and have a great day!

I am betting that your dimmer switch is toast!!

I had the same problem with mine, and ended up replaceing the wiring harnass/turn signal assembly in the steering column. It seemed it had shorted out on the previous owner and, had been "repaired" incorrectly using alot of solder and a shole lot of luck.

I agree with Gary...it probably is your switch, but before you replace it, try cleaning it. On the older switches with the "flip to pass" dimmers, the bottom of the High beam contact is a gathering place for dust and grim. Try a squirt of air into the backside of the switch...if that doesn't do it, try a little electric contact cleanser if you have it...if not, try a little WD40. If cleaning it doesn't help, a new one is cheap and easy to install.
