High Beam Switch Mounting [Dipper]

I'll need to remount the High Beam Switch (Dipper) on the floor and I was wondering do the carpet sets have this hole already located?

I'm a while from carpets and would not want to install it and find I drilled in the wrong place....

Thanks,
Michael.

On my carpet set the answer is no... I just "fit" the carpet in place and using a very sharp blade cut an X over the dipper , the pushed the dipper through the X and then cut around it.. A pretty fool proof procedure.

I may be mistaken on this but since the dip switch is on the part of the carpet that is glued in it is bolted on top of the carpet. I think some of the old cars I had taken apart this was the case.

Michael,
On my BT7 the switch bracket mounts through the carpet to the floor. I just located the holes with an awl and then cut out a slightly larger hole for the screw/bolt.

In the Austin Healey 100 restoration Guide the dipper switch body is underneath the carpet...only the aluminum dipper is seen through a circular hole in the carpet.

Actually, on the BN1/BN2, the dipper switch body is mounted under the floor with the button projecting through the floor & carpet into the interior. The wiring connections are under the floor. Anderson/Moment page 50, & several of these cars that I have looked at.

The snow has melted here in Ohio..went on a 30 mile jaunt, top down..ran great..

Put my carpet down last year ...yep that is surely correct..don't think it could fit any other way!
