HIF4 Carb Vent hoses?

My $800 69BGT, seems to not have 69 carbs on it but a set of HIF4 carbs. Crankcase vent hoses and fuel lines are easy enough and I can find all sorts of photos and diagrams in Haynes, MGB Workshop Manual, Moss and Victoria British catalogs. But what about the brass carb vent hose connections right next to the fuel connections on the HIF's?? I found the carb diagram in the MGB Workshop Manual but it doesn't show where the lines lead to, just the connections. Maybe a filter of some sort down by the engine mounts? I found a better photo of the connections in the Williams Expert Guide book, photo 7-5-2, but it looks like the connection to something is hidden by the engine mount. Can anyone tell me where do the metal tube vent connectors lead to? Any diagrans available? or do the tubes just lead down with no filter to drain any gas that might drip out? Not a lot of HIF carbed cars in Reno, so its difficult to find where they're suppossed to go.

Car is runing well otherwise with no smoke and just passed smog in Reno without any of the 69 emission stuff. Currently in the process of lots of cleaning and rubber bushing suspension replacement. Should get it ready in about a months time for some track laps and trips around Tahoe.

I'll have to get some advice later on when I try to run the car from altitude around 7000ft down to the Bay area and back. I hope the SU carbs aren't going to be too much of a problem with fuel/air mixtures.
 
No canister on the 69 or any other emmissions stuff. Since it looks like no one knows were to find a photo of the system, I'll just hook up some silicon hoses together and vent it off the side and connect them using an extra fuel filter instead of a canister so they can breath.
 
On my '72, the vents were hooked together with a piece of copper tubing connected by to the vents by short pieces of fuel; line. The tubing had a connection in the middle for a line to go to the canister. My canister as well as the rest of the pollution stuff had been removed before I bought the car but the tubing was still there and not connected to anything but the carbs. Your idea sounds good to me.
