Hi Midget owners!

Hi all Midget owners,

I am a proud new owner of a 1976 Midget. I am also an auto neophyte and plan to make this my education car as well as a project car. I think I've found a great forum to get most of my questions answered!

A special Hi to all MG owners in the Vancouver, BC area. I am presently looking for a pair of seats that will enable me to put collector plates on my car. If anyone has any hints or leads, please let me know.

Until later, keep your tops down!

Malcolm

Hi Malcom, you will have to get in touch with Gary Lloyd, a neighbor of yours. He can put you in touch with a couple of guys who might have your seats

I think my brother has Midget seats in his MGA.. If you could find him some MGA seats he would love to swap..

He's in PG

Congrats on the midget!

Chris

Welcome aboard!! There are a lot of guys in Vancouver with B's, but I don't know about Midgets!! If you get a chance, talk to Rod at Octagon Motors!! He is a good guy!! We got to get him over here!! CHUCK!!!! Talk to him!!

To Rod who posts on the other place!! He is mad at me, 'cuz I let it be known that the wiring harness that I got from Octagon was craaaaap!!

Welcome to the cult! The Midget is a great car... If I only had a day or two to work on mine.

I've got a list of 20 minor Midget projects I need to work on, but the garage is way too chilly to spend much time in.

If you need any "hands on" help with your Midget, I'd be happy to help, all I ask is airfare for two from St Louis or Memphis, and a couple lift tickets to Grouse Mtn.

Andre, do you know John Weimer, also of Cape Geradeau? has a great 79 red B

I've heard a lot about John and I've read some of his Weimerology on "The Autoist"'s site. I've even emailed him a couple of times, but I guess he and I haven't bumped into each other. When the weather gets a little bit warmer, and the some of the Midget projects are accomplished, I'll go for a little drive to his part of town.

Welcome!

While not a Midget owner we do share the same motor (I have a Spitfire 1500) and a country.

Andre, why would you go to Grouse when you are that close to Whistler???

When my wife and I visited Vancouver, we priced things out and found that Whistler is a little bit further away and a little bit more expensive. Besides, Prince Charles and his kids were there for a ski trip at the time and we didn't want to have our skiing interfered with by security guards and secret agents.

I'd be willing to go to Whistler... heck, I'd settle for anything. (There's really no skiing in Missouri, unless its on a lake.

I'm a pretty good skier. I lived in Utah for a couple years and being a half hour away from Snow Basin helped me hone my skills.

You're right about the exchange rate. That's just one of the many reasons my wife and I love Canada sooo much. Canada is a beautiful country and most of the people I've met are great. Our favorites so far are Vancouver, B.C. and Souris, P.E.I. You guys have a really great national anthem too! (Its amazing how quickly you can learn it, just by attending a couple of NHL games.)

Hi Malcolm

Congrats on the Midget!

I just bought my first LBC last fall, also a 1976 Midget. Can't wait till spring to get it on the road!

btw, Andre--I just moved a little closer to your neck of the woods, now live a little west of Fredericktown.

Enjoy, Malcolm!

Andre, you are a hockey fan??? Then you are allllllright!! Do you see the 'Blues play often?? Vancouver is an OK place to visit, but Vancouver Island is better!! Next time you are in Vancouver, make a point of coming over and we will have a place for you to stay!!

Sorry about the delay in getting back. Hey Tim, do you live near Ironton or Arcadia? There's some nice scenery in that area. I've got family there. That area is only an hour away... definitely close enough to lend a little MG help now and then.

As far as Vancouver goes, the last time we visited, my wife and I went to a hockey game. It was the Canucks vs. Buffalo Sabres. I wasn't that interested in who won, (being a Blues fan and all) but the GM Centre (I think that's what its called) is a great facility. Since that game though, I've had a special place in my heart for the Canucks. I've been a hockey fan for about 15 years. Not a diehard fan, but I do catch the occasional game on TV and at least a couple of Blues games at the Savvis center.

Unfortunately we only had a couple of days before we had to drive down to Seattle and fly back home. We figured it wasn't enough time to really take in Vancouver Island. Next time though.... Next time.
