At the tail end of a quick trip to Bristol to sign for a new bit of lab equipment.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like I will have a chance to pick up the parts that I wanted as they are a bit to far away, and for the VAT rebate I need to actually go to the shop, shipping to the hotel wouldn't work.

Decent rental car though Vauxhall Meriva Turbo diesel. Funky suicide doors.

might still be worth it - even with VAT is it cheaper than shipping? British mail system is unbelievable! typically took 24 hours to arrive.

I just Googled the Vauxhall you mentioned. Pretty neat!

It may have been worth shipping if I had taken care of it earlier, but I am flying home tonight so it is not really relevant any more.

The Vauxhall drives really nicely, first GM car I have driven in years which I enjoyed, and would even consider buying if it were available at home. The diesel really had pretty go pickup and is as quite as my gas powered toyota.
