Hi Everybody, Nick here all the way from Wiltshire in the UK

Just joined BCF as I now have a running TR6 to drive around. I have owned a TR6 since 1982 and ran it as my daily but had to lay it up 2 years later, I still have this car and through my working life my friends joked that its rebuild would end up being a retirement project. Having just retired the house became the retirement project so I just had to buy another TR6 to drive around in so I now have a braise of TR6's and the "new" one is turning into a bit of a project to maintain and improve, but I guess we all have that with our cars.
My current issue with the running car is that I can't reliably keep the water thermostat and temperature sender in actual water because they are actually higher than the radiator cap so the temp gauge often doesn't register anything other than "Cold". To solve this I am thinking of adding a header tank and wonder if anybody else has already done this.

Nick - welcome to BCF. As I discovered when I retired, the "fun time" is really when you get involved in doing things, particularly getting your hands dirty while working on your cars. Good on you.

Now that you have a pair of TR6s, you'll find our Triumph area is the place for posting questions and how-to's. Post some photos of the radiator cap area so we can help figure this out.

Good to have you with us.

Welcome to the Forum @NickB I'm new here too. Everyone is helpful and friendly.
Hi Janine,
It would appear that we are not too far from each other, I used to have a flat on the Gloucester Docks when I worked in Cheltenham but now I have retired I live in a small town between Swindon and Cirencester. If you or your neighbour ever need any help with the cars just let me know, I've worked on a few "A" series engines back in the day having owned a couple of Minis and an Austin 1100
