Hi guys, Ive been off the forum for a couple of years since I sold my car and moved to Malta.

Problem is Ive got withdrawal symtoms :frown: so Im tentatively looking around to acquire another car. I'll probably stick with a 100-Six - my first love!

My 100-Six website is still out in cyberspace and its my intention to get back into updating it if I can remember how the heck to do it.

If any of the regular 100-Six contributors have any new historical photos or info on cars or concours issues let me know and I'll include them.

Looking forward to following the threads although I'm sure its not the same without a car.

Welcome back Derek!

I visited Malta in November 1998 and found it very interesting - the history is unusual. Not sure how keen I would be to live there month after month, but really enjoyed the visit and have it on my list of places to return to.

I remember that they very much did have a McDonald's (thank goodness), and that everything was expensive, although probably no more so than most of (expensive) Europe.

What keeps you busy there?

I see that your site has not been updated since May 2007, so you will have some catching up to do. I certainly have enjoyed learning about the details of the 100-Six from the wealth of information that you compiled over the years.

Since you are looking for a new driver, is that 100-Six available in the Museum there in Malta?

Reid - I retired here - its very tax efficient and I play a lot of golf. I miss the Healeys though.

Jim- the museum 100-Six is almost exactly like my old car, but this time I'm shopping around for something with a race/rally look to it. I'd like to make it into a full rally replica.

On the other hand Reid's 100M does look pretty amazing!

Derek - If you want the race/rally look, please consider the repo of the First Rally 100-Six - UOC 741

That would certainly get my attention.

If there is any chance of you getting to this side of the pond, the Conclave is being held this year in Kingston June 21st - 26th. You can check out the program at https://www.ahcso.com/. And if you want a race prepared 100-6, check with Bob Yule at https://www.autofarm.net/ and https://www.ahcso.com/ForSale/Cars/BobYule/1961%20BT7%20Vintage%20Racer.pdf It is Jim Reid's car. Whoops, its a BT7, not a 100-6. Sorry about that. But then it would make a great excuse to cross the waters in June. :lol:

I will add my welcome back as well. Sure miss you, old friend. If there was any possible way to get to the Conclave in Kingston, Ontario, it would be a terrific opportunity to meet up with many of your old friends all in one place. My son Geoff still raves about your touring him all over Paris in 2004 in your BN4, the only way to see Paris, France.
I still think the pic I took of you at speed in your BN4 which is on your web site is the best picture there!

Great to here from you both. Id love to be at the Conclave but Im afraid its not going to be possible. Im currently back in England again as my mother, who's 85, is back in hospital again unfortunately.

Scott, Id already been in touch with Bob. The car is quite interesting and similar to what Im looking for. I saw a modified 3000 on tuesday which was also very good, it was putting out about 180 bhp and hd a lot of Dennis Welch stuff on it but was a bit too modified for me as it has flared wheel arches and too wide wheels imho.

Next tuesday Im seeing 2 100-Sixs. Both 1957 but ugraded. One with the six port inlet on a new alloy head and the other with a 29D engine. They are both red and have factory hardtops so are the type of thing Im looking for. And why not stick with the Longbridge car!

I'll keep you posted and have a great time at Conclave

Rich, I agree about the photo, I have a blown up version on my wall. Great times.
