One of their best!

Good one! Now, what's with the manhole?

The clip is from their movie, Help! . Ringo had a ring that the bad guys were after. The guy in the manhole was one of them, if memory serves.

Who are those young fella's? They seem kinda talented, ya know? They might be famous some day.... lol

Of course today, the bad guys would just steal the manhole cover.

Great song, but the girl looks like a guy in drag! Can you say "tweeze?"

I wondered about that also, Basil!

Nice!

We had a little skiffle band in high school and used to play that...I haven't tried it in ages, but I just strummed it out on my acoustic a minute ago.
It's actually pretty easy.

Semi-related note:

~Here~ is why my race car is "909" (can you ID any of the cars in the later part of this?)

Nice, Nial - I never made the connection!

And it's one of my favorite tunes to strum on my 12-string as well.

Okay, here goes......

First car we see is a Humber, probably an Imperial, with the vinyl roof. A silver Jaguar 420 comes into the shot.

Next frame, the red sporty thing looks like an Aston Martin, my guess would be a DB2/4 convertible.

The line of cars in the street as the officers are crossing are as foolows: Austin van, Ford 100E Popular/Anglia; Mini;BMC 1100; Triumph 2000 Mk1 and a Jaguar MKX. The roof in the next shot looks like it's on an Austin/Morris 1800 "Landcrab". The blue Police van is a Morris Commercial, commony referred to as a "Paddy Wagon".

Steve:

You are good!

I thought the red car might be a Ferrari, but on second thought, I think you're right.

methinks you're familiar with those Paddy Wagons

I know Paddy Wagons!

I grew up with all of those vehicles around me, I have a distinct advantage. By the time, say, Barry was born, all or most of those were already piles of rust in a scrapyard somewhere.

I had forgotten that that was the plot line of Help. A guy whose last name ends with an "o" has a ring, and the bad guys are after it. Hmmm, where have I heard that before...

um, the red car has too much windscreen rake to be a DB2/4. The wings are too sleek as well. DB2/4 was more "bulbous". And th' wheels are lookin' eye-tie to me. Borrani, mostlike. Not sure but I think Pininfarina "something"... guessin' 250-ish Ferrutzi.

At first I thought 275 GTB, but it lacks the side vents. Now I'm thinking maybe around '61 250 GT! Definitly Italian if not a Ferrari!
