Grandkids are fun but they can sure wear you down.
 
Wow! That sounds like a great scenic trip,& one the Kids
will remember the rest of their lives.
 
They'll have a ball! We did the Durango to Silverton Narrow Gauge a couple years ago and want to do it again one of these days.

Wow.... That brings back old memories.
back in '76 or '77, Accompanied a Boy Scout troop from Lubbock Tx on a hike of the:
Cumbres & Toltec RR right of way.
It's a narrow gauge track from Antonito CO to Chama NM. About 50 miles.
hiked it for 4 or 5 days , then took the train back.

haven't even thought of it in 30 years I bet, but what a great trip & my first duty as a scout master.
