My name is jeff and I’m the new owner of a TR3 which is in pretty rough shape and needs completely rebuilt. Im about to embark on a budget friendly full mechanical refresh from the ground up. I’m sure to have many stupid questions to ask in the coming weeks/months/years.

Post some photos of your starting point. Adding the TS number from the plate under the bonnet helps.
