Well, I wish I was using an 8x10. I use an Olympus E5 and shoot with minimal equipment. I have dabbled in photography for years. Film, 2 1/4 Yashica Mat 124G. Freelanced for Autoweek in the late 80's doing Indy and NASCAR. I had an opportunity to do the Canadian GP in '82. I lugged around big lenses and now I adhere to the K.I.S.S. philosophy! Currently I enter local art exhibits and contests. Just for the fun. I believe that I shoot for myself and if anyone else like my work, great! I also have been fortunate enough to sell a few pieces.

Yep...old and a film head, but thanks to the guy who invented digital too...and the "delete" button... I always tell folks just getting into photography, that shooting film is just like a weapon. You only have X number of shots...make'em count" Now off to find out why my 77 B wants to run at 3 grand !!! It sat for I believe about ten years. May be all gunked up. We'll see, Adios from Joisey !You and Doc will get along great. Heβs an old film head too!

Love that delete button... No more diggin' holes in th' back yard to bury th' mistakes!
A few months back sent my F2 out for refurb, considered doing it to the old FtN and F-3 but they're now "excess to requirement" AFAIC. And still have one working FE/MD-12.

First TLR was a "Yashica 24". Now sitting on my "eye candy" shelf gatherin' dust. Got a Mamiya C220 while working for the local town rag, in high school & through two years of college. Had 35mm, 55mm and a 135mm for that. Couldn't afford Nikons back then, so opted for Miranda (F and later a couple G model) "system" cameras & lenses as my 35mm gear. Used those later, instead of the USAF-issue Graflex XL (POS!) and got stories and By-lines in "Airman" magazine in my first couple years with the results. Really had to push to get a photo credit back then. A lot of my Air Force shots have shown up as "Photo courtesy: U.S.A.F." Harumph!

In case you didn't see the post, yep, I have been playing with it since the mid 60's. Got my first lesson from one Edie Adams, AP photographer who live in our New Jersey town. His wife was a nurse who worked with my mom. He had a 54 TF in his garage and he asked his wife to get someone to exercise it !!! He returned from Nam, gave me some pointers and film and said have at it. I have used Yashicas in the beginning and moved to Olympus. OM-1's. Did freelance for Autoweek and a few other places. Stll doing some contests and exhibitions as well as a stock agency in England, Alamy.Welcome to our little Photog group. Are you into photography? What do you shoot with?
