where'd you get the mounting hardware to mount your fuel pump like you did in your "car domain" album? I'm trying to figure out how to redo mine but I can't find any diaphrams/grommets on Moss for to go between the fuel pump and body panel.
Interesting. VB doesn't show it either. It looks similar to the older bracket, just attaches differently, IIRC. You could likely fab one up if you had a few pix and dimensions.
That was what was there when I bought the car, so I assume it's the factory setup. When it warms up (next couple of weeks) I could go look for a part #.
Oohh...waitaminit! I think I recall it being a "friction fit" in the rubber grommet, with a clamp or somesuch to keep it from dropping. We'll see. The black metal "box" is just to cover/protect it.
You need 377-360. Thats what I'm using and it works great. Can be somewhat of a tight fit to get the pump in. It is a friction fit and shouldn't move when you have it in or at least mine hasn't.
I have that clamp on my car. The odd thing is, it's holding my SU pump vertically; not horizontally like it appears in Cramshaft's photo album (and Stewart's Restoration of a B thread for that matter). In other words, the base of my SU fuel pump can't possibly go into the boot like what I see in the photo album. So, maybe who ever installed the SU pump last attached the clamp on the car incorrectly?
Just the "top" (points 'n connections) portion should be stickin' inna boot. Thru the big grommet. The fittings end should dangle out into the axle cut-out area underneath.
certainly sounds like whoever last installed the pump and mount probably did it wrong. The way it is now, it's impossible for anything to stick into the boot.
