I thought of you as I was going through some old ency-
clopedias that we inhertited from the in-laws.Was going to
recycle the whole box,but decided to look through it before
I did.
There was a whole set (maybe 12) from Mechanics- Illustrated on misc. things,like how to build an arc welder,
a record player,etc.The copyright date is 1955.
I loaned them to a Neighbor,or I would waste an en-
tire evening looking through them.

Last year, browsing through a 1959 MotorTrend, I found this - a picture of me, my brother, and my Dad, looking at a "new" Mercedes-Benz diesel passenger car. I had no idea it was there.

Another one for you guys...

I took this photo in September 1999 in Barrie, Ontario at their big automotive flea market... You can probably imagine why

Now the story really begins, at the same flea market I picked up a 1964 Road & Track that had a small section of photos of unusual Minis, including (you guessed it) this exact Mini Mixer with hardly anything changed on it! A company in southern Ontario built this Mini in the early 1960's, when they went out of business in the mid-1970's it was sold to a collector, the same guy who displayed it in 1999... He told me it was the first time he had taken it off his farm in many years, and since he's just a collector he just kept all the car... I've since heard that he sold it to another concrete mixing company in Ontario where it was going to get a new paint job...

How's that for a story... LOL
